Where to Watch A Few Good Men
- PapaHamzehJune 26, 2026The heavy hitters and legends are so because of movies like this. Rob Reiner directs the movie well, pacing is great. Tom's acting, when he is serious, is so good. I really do think I just dislike his charming smarmy scenes in most movies. I understand that charm is likely why he had the magnetism he does in movies, but I think it detracts from his serious scenes, which I think he is pretty good at. Jack Nicholson is just fucking insane any time he is on screen in any movie. The iconic scene is a bit overplayed in media, im not sure why it ever became so popular, but even then he is still just so so good. Its a good law drama, who doesn't love those? If I had any quibbles, its that the underlying patriotic themes are sometimes aged quite poorly. The early 90s was still a time where the naivete of US citizens was enough to blind us to such themes. The wars of the 2000s really shifted the populace's view of what the military means. Thats not this movies fault, though. So, hard to really hold it against them. I was worried Demi would become a full on love interest, and im glad that didn't occur. Kiefer was kind of bad in this movie, and Kevin's really only served as an avatar of The Government, which I guess is fine. I mean you couuld flesh that character out a bit more, but to what end? Add more runtime and make the movie 10% better? Again, all quibbles. Just such a great movie!
- CubaneFebruary 19, 2026A lot of the finer minutia of trial court etiquette is left out, but there are some subtle nuggets of genius at play in Kaffee’s litigation. Saying things you know will be objected to by the counterparty simply because the jury can’t unhear them is one; using prop rebuttal witnesses to intimidate a hostile witness on the stand is another. Both are both real strategies used by actual trial lawyers. Also the use of an emotional support baseball bat is very accurate, per my anonymous sources.
- LivewireAdminFebruary 3, 2026I forget just how good the performances are in this when I haven't re-watched it in a while. Tom Cruise is excellent....I love action Tom Cruise but I miss serious actor Tom Cruise. I wish he would pop up every now and then to do something like this. Which I guess is part of the problem, to my knowledge they're not really making movies like this anymore. Would be nice if there were like, 15 Aaaron Sorkins working in Hollywood. RIP Rob Reiner
