A fun little vampire film. Any time I see Kevin Durand in a film I get pumped. One of my favorite actors. If you like a fun mindless horror film this one is good.

Excellent cast of characters, and (mostly) compelling villains. The pacing and structure of the plot made it a better film than Ready Or Not, which—despite Samar Weaving and Adam Brody's excellent performances—held out on its 'surprise' ending until the very end, to ultimately disappointing result. I also found RoN's rich villains to be far less compelling. “Abigail”, by contrast, revels in its midpoint shenanigans and the vociferously fun nature of its antagonists, and both major 'reveals' are treated more as delicious tonal shifts in the story. It's the character moments between the remaining crew, as well as between Abigail herself and Melissa Barrera's 'Joey' that make the film resonate.

I found this movie entertaining, though not nearly as good as Ready or Not. A good chunk of the beginning of the movie is dedicated to setup, assuming there will be tension regarding what the actual premise of the movie is in regard to the girl they kidnap. However, the trailers spoiled this aspect of the movie, so I found the beginning setup to be a bit slow. Once it kicks into gear though, the movie alternates between the type of fun horror I've come to expect from these creators, though sometimes it takes itself a bit too seriously. The motivations, development, and drama between all the characters end up not being very important, so I feel like the movie could have ignored some of those aspects entirely instead of trying to build them and then have characters make actions that do not align with those backstories at all (or have those backstories become fully irrelevant). But when the movie shifts away from a lot of this setup and embraces its pulpy, over-the-top core, it ends up being a ton of fun. I loved seeing Dan Stevens and Alisha Weir fully embrace their roles, and there is plenty of gore and silliness that works really well. I just think Ready or Not was a more balanced and complete movie that still managed to lean into these aspects more, but this isn't bad and ends up still being better than their two Scream movies.

This was a really solid attempt at a horror thriller, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The twist is just solid. A group kidnaps a little ballerina for ransom, only to realize she’s a ruthless vampire is a killer premise. The movie packs plenty of action, and while the pacing goes a bit up and down in the middle, it still keeps you guessing. You genuinely can't predict what’s going to happen next.

Knowing nothing going in, the twist truly caught me off guard. But once the thrill of the gimmick faded, it felt pretty mediocre.

This is a fun movie! Grab some popcorn and a soda (or beer) and enjoy the formulaic chaos. The directors make some entertaining movies, that's for sure!

Fun ride but I wouldn’t watch again. I also think they should’ve brought the dad in more.

    Boss movie. Easily rewatchable.

Very slow paced with little to no pay off or depth to any characters or plot
