Got a lot of funny scenes and Jim Carrey is a hoot, definitely worth watching

This movie feels like someone handed Jim Carrey the keys and told him to do whatever he wanted. Every scene is packed with weird noises, ridiculous expressions, and comedy that's operating on pure cartoon logic. It shouldn't work as often as it does, but I found myself laughing at some of the dumbest stuff imaginable. It's definitely not a movie for everyone. The humor is loud, childish, and completely over-the-top, and there are moments where it probably pushes things a little too far. But when it's firing on all cylinders, it's hilarious. Carrey's energy is absolutely relentless, and his commitment to even the smallest joke is what makes the whole thing so entertaining.

I have never laughed so hard before in my life like I did after watching this film. Great family fun from beginning to end. Ace Ventura is totally nuts and gets into alsorts of scraps and trouble. The bit at the beginning with slinky is brilliant. His love for all animals creates lots of chaos. One definitely to watch.

This film contains one of the single funniest scenes in any movie. Gets hot in those rhinos.

Jim Carrey you tried so hard to make this movie work, maybe a little to hard at times

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is pure Jim Carrey chaos at its best. The film fully embraces absurd humour and over-the-top physical comedy, delivering iconic, laugh-out-loud moments throughout. It’s loud, silly, and unapologetically ridiculous, and that’s exactly why it works as a timeless feel-good comedy.

Jim Carrey returns as Ace Ventura, summoned from a Tibetan ashram to solve the mystery of a missing sacred bat in the jungles of Africa. The plot? Barely matters. It’s a vehicle for Carrey’s elastic face, animal obsession and slapstick chaos. The film leans hard into cartoon logic: Ace births himself from a mechanical rhino, slides down temple steps like a slinky and causes tribal warfare with nothing but a bad attitude and a better hairstyle. It’s louder, weirder and more unhinged than the first film. Critics hated it. I loved it. It’s the kind of sequel that knows it’s ridiculous and doesn’t care.

I think this one is maybe slightly better than the first, but I can't bring myself to give it more than three stars.

I enjoyed the first one (recently as well) and I really like Jim Carrey but for some reason, couldn't quite engage with this one. Maybe it was 'too wacky' or too many jokes repeated from the first.

If you love Jim Carrey, you’ll probably love this movie. If you can’t stand him, you hated it. Simple as that. Personally, I’m in the first camp — his commitment is so over-the-top it makes the absurdity brilliant. The original Ace Ventura was the launchpad, but this sequel? So bad it’s beautiful. Thirty years later I still catch myself yelling “CHICAGO!” like a lunatic. Critics trashed it, which is why it earns a place of honor in my 5/10 zone. Honestly, if I were being fair, it’s more of a 7 — but the 5/10 slot is for movies I actually rewatch, movies that are terrible and amazing at the same time. The plot? Ace has trauma, hides in a monastery, gets lured back into the world, and somehow winds up in Africa birthing himself from a mechanical rhino while preventing tribal war. It makes no sense. But if you liked the first one, you’ll love this.

It’s pretty good I think the first one was a lot better, but this movie is still enjoyable.

Great movie! Love Jim Carrey! Not as good as Pet Detective but still funny as always!
