- xOShockwaveOxJune 25, 2026Let's start by playing "Another One Bites the Dust." It feels like the perfect theme song for this movie. I'm genuinely surprised that actors like Sylvester Stallone and Scott Eastwood would attach their names to a film like this. The premise has potential, but the director and producers never turn it into anything worthwhile. Some of the action sequences are downright awful. The fight scenes in the woods with Eastwood show brief flashes of promise, but any sense of realism disappears when a 30-round weapon somehow never needs to be reloaded. The airstrikes on the resort cabin look more like a Fourth of July fireworks display than a military assault, making what should have been an intense sequence feel unintentionally comical. At best, Alarum is a C-grade spy action movie. It has all the ingredients for an entertaining thriller, but weak direction, uneven pacing, and uninspired filmmaking squander every opportunity. Flat performances, forgettable action, and an unnecessarily convoluted script drain the excitement from what should have been a fast-paced, suspenseful ride. In the end, Alarum is little more than a bargain-bin action thriller featuring actors who deserved a better script. With stronger direction and tighter execution, this could have been an enjoyable spy adventure. Instead, it's a forgettable, low-budget effort that wastes its potential and leaves little reason to remember it once the credits roll.
