- Tiffie StarchildJune 30, 2025I really need to rewatch this movie, but it crossed my mind because of K-Pop Demon Hunters - not just because of the obvious music connection, but art-wise? This is one of the most GORGEOUS films I’ve ever seen! It reminds me a lot of .hack, where folks exist in the real world but also exist in a virtual online world. These aren’t just chat rooms, servers and social media, though, it’s like a full VR experience. The avatars people create of themselves actually remind me a lot of VTubers, but the entire world they interact in is completely immersive. Aside from the art and the music (which, as I mentioned, are incredible), the story was a liiiittle but confusing but wonderful. This is one of the reasons I want to run this movie back because there were some things that I definitely didn’t pick up on the first time, but I’m intrigued enough to go back and watch it again to pick up on what I missed. I’ll come back to update this review once I rewatch!
