Where to Watch Blade II
- CallumJune 8, 2026⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Blade II – A rare sequel that sharpens the blade. Sequels often fall into the trap of simply giving you more of the same. Blade II takes the foundation of the original film and actually builds on it, introducing new ideas and a genuinely interesting twist that helps it stand apart from its predecessor rather than merely copying it. The biggest strength of the film is that it expands the world. Instead of simply returning to the familiar conflict of the first movie, it throws Blade into a situation where old enemies and new threats create some surprisingly entertaining dynamics. The result is a film that feels bigger, stranger, and more ambitious than the original. Wesley Snipes is once again excellent as Blade, effortlessly carrying the film with the same cool confidence that made the character memorable in the first place. The action is larger, the stakes are higher, and the film leans even further into its comic-book roots. My one real criticism is the increased reliance on CGI. The original film benefited from more practical effects, which gave many scenes a tangible quality that has aged reasonably well. Blade II shifts further toward digital effects, and some of those moments definitely show their age today. That said, it's still incredibly watchable and remains one of the stronger comic-book sequels of its era. It understands what worked in the first film while having the confidence to push the concept in new directions. Of course, I should also admit that nostalgia may be helping this score a little. This was the very first DVD I bought for the DVD player I purchased with my own money when I was eighteen. That alone gives it a special place in my collection. Sometimes a movie isn't just a movie — it's tied to a moment in your life. Whether that's nostalgia talking or not, I still think Blade II is a great sequel and a thoroughly enjoyable watch. 🥃 A favourite drink in a well-worn glass — perhaps not entirely objective, but every bit as enjoyable as you remember.
- Q_ProfJanuary 26, 2026Pretty good for part two and would say a little better than the first movie. Classic Snipes fight cheorgraphy with the special effects when the vampire and new variations get killed. Blades character in story is confident, smart, and empathetic in different situations. Reiner vampi character made it interesting throughout most of the story.
- Tom MajskiNovember 27, 2025Peaks and troughs abound, Blade 2 is a lot of fun even if it is jo where near the original. May favourite thing here us the new reaper vamp, very cool design as you would expect from a monster master like del Toro. Nomak plays an amazing villain with a real menacing screen presence. His blood hunger feels very real like an addict dying for their next hit. Its really good stuff. The rest of the crew are hit and miss. Perlman is Perlman and everyone else is just ok. The fact there even has to be a group outing this time feels very 'studio seqel' and just doesn't excite me that much. Oh and Norman Reedus is really annoying in this one. Gripes aside, del Toro does enough stylistically to make it a fun watch. Blade and Whistler are still great on screen and the action is all passable.
- ZokkiieJune 8, 2025Pretty cool sequel! Way more action than the first one and the new vampire monsters were freaky in a good way. Blade is still awesome, and the fight scenes are fun to watch. The story was kinda basic and some characters didn’t matter much, but overall it was entertaining. Not amazing, but definitely worth watching if you liked the first.
