⭐⭐⭐½ – Blockers – Growing up is hard. Letting go is harder. Blockers starts out like a fairly standard raunchy comedy. You know the sort of thing: awkward situations, embarrassing misunderstandings, and parents making increasingly poor decisions in the name of protecting their children. Then somewhere along the way, it completely loses its mind. What begins as a simple premise gradually escalates into a series of increasingly ridiculous situations that become funnier the more out of control they get. By the time the film hits its stride, it's operating on pure comedic momentum, embracing the absurdity while never losing sight of the characters at its centre. The biggest surprise is that beneath all the crude humour and chaos lies a genuinely heartfelt story. At its core, Blockers isn't really about the kids at all. It's about parents learning that their children are growing up and that there comes a point where they have to stop trying to control every aspect of their lives. That emotional thread gives the comedy more weight than you might expect. The laughs land because the characters feel relatable, even when they're behaving in completely ridiculous ways. The cast does a great job balancing the film's sillier moments with the more sincere ones, and the result is a movie that manages to be both outrageous and surprisingly sweet. It won't win any awards for subtlety, and some of the humour definitely aims below the belt, but that's all part of the package. If you're willing to go along for the ride, there's a lot of fun to be had here. A hilarious comedy that starts slowly before descending into complete madness, all while telling a surprisingly tender story about parenthood, growing up, and learning when to let go. 🍷 A glass of wine that turns into three bottles with old friends — starts sensibly enough, then suddenly the evening has become far more chaotic than anyone planned. 🍷😄

A hilarious raunchy comedy that starts off slow before things become absolutely bonkers. All while delivering a tender tale of parenthood and coming of age.

Its' a good coming of age of story from both side, the parents and the teenagers. A hilarious story about the ending of adolescence, trying achieving one of the supposed milestones before moving on, and parents who have a hard time let go.

Freaking hilarious. A fresh look at the genre, John Cena is a great dad. Parenting is tough business!
