- JeremiahJune 23, 2026After Man Trouble I was worried about this one being it is from the same director. Luckily this is much better. The first act is a slog. But luckily gets better and more interesting after it. Still though it’s far from great, being more on the lower end of average id say. Jack and Michael Caine being the best aspects but their characters are a bit shallow both as people and as depth of character. Not a ton to work with. Stephen Dorff at times does really well and at others seems a bit out of his league. Lopez feels really out of her league turning in a fairly unconfident performance. Coulda been worse though. Coulda been Man Trouble. So i was wrong about finishing my 90s Jack disco. I have one left. The Evening Star… which is a sequel to Terms of Endearment which i’ve never seen so… gonna have to do a little detour here in order to finish this 90s Jack goal i set.
