Where to Watch Bride Wars
- MR_BigTimeMay 2, 2026Despite all the hate Bride Wars has received, it grossed almost four times its budget; I'd hardly call that a failure. Yet, by coming out in during a time where hypersensibility was the new thing, it was butchered by critics and the general audience alike. Sure, the premise is ridiculous and the plot predictable. The girls were hard to like when they were willing to throw a lifetime friendship over a wedding date and venue. But you know what? These things are more common than anyone would admit. Maybe they don't do all the things these two pulled, but they do put their friendship on the line, even if not as openly, or even if they see reason later on. Anyway, not everything you see in a movie has to be believable to be funny, and most of the time it's precisely the ridiculousness of it all that makes it funny. The cast was excellent, especially Hathaway.
