A young soldier escapes her suffocating small town by joining the military, only to find that she isn't going for a tour of duty in Iraq as she hoped. Instead, she's sent to Guantanamo. Met with hatred and abuse from the men in her charge, she forges an odd friendship with a young man who has been imprisoned at Gitmo for eight years.
One of the best movies I've ever seen. No idea why some of the reviews are so bad
Great movie. I didn't even know they call them "detainees" so that they can purposely get around the the rules of the Geneva Convention. It's good to see things from different perspectives.
This movie is a glimpse into something most of us don't want to explore. No easy answers here.
