I loved it! It served as almost as an epilogue, if I could say, to the original Pixar classic Up. It continued right off of where the movie ended and showed us what Carl ended up doing in the end, alongside Dug. Not going to lie, it made me tear up a bit again and made my girlfriend cry a bit. The story of Carl and Ellie truly was a love story of triumph no matter the odds, right up until the very end for the both of them together. I'm glad this short paid homage to that and kept it a prominent fact near the ending, but also showed us life must move on after loss no matter what, much like the original movie did.

Carl's Date is a beautiful, bittersweet farewell to Carl Fredricksen and an incredible tribute to the late Ed Asner. It captures that exact Pixar magic in just a few short minutes. It's so cute and funny! It completely brings back all the nostalgic memories of Up. Honestly, it makes me wish we could get a proper sequel, but at the same time, I’m scared a sequel might just ruin the original movie.
