Where to Watch Catch Me If You Can
- TanalienJanuary 9, 2025Spielberg brings his special touch to the table and maintains the thrill of the chase throughout the film. Composer John Williams brings his usually excellent touch to the proceedings with a gorgeous score brimming with jazz riffs and some lovely musical cues. The score is emotionally moving when needed and great at upping the tempo. The film also features Nat King Cole's masterpiece: The Christmas Song. I never knew the song before this film, but now I listen to it every Christmas - and every time I finish this film. Catch Me If You Can is an emotional drama that is so easily watchable, you get lost in the movie. Then two hours later, you realize: "Wow, that was awesome!"
- TaidoughFebruary 14, 2026The movie and story is good, however it claims to be a true story, which it is not true. One of the things that really erks me about its claim to be true is at the end where its like and they are still friends today, wild to say to me after I now know that person does not and has never existed. Look it up there is no truth to this story, the movie is good, barring those issues.
- adecariaAugust 4, 2025I love the kinds of movies that answer a fun hypothetical question. For Catch Me If You Can, the question is, "What if Frank Abagnale wasn't completely full of shit afterall?" Yes, he wrote some bad checks, used fake IDs, and went to jail. No, there's zero evidence that he faked being a PanAm pilot, lawyer, doctor, professor, or was chased for 8 years by the FBI. But what if he actually did? Sounds like a fun story to me--and with John Williams providing the perfect mood music, Spielberg and his star-studded cast led by DiCaprio, Hanks, and Walken completely nailed it.
