Murderesses Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) (a chanteuse and tease who killed her husband and sister after finding them in bed together) and Roxie Hart (Renée Zellweger) (who killed her lover when she discovered he wasn't going to make her a star) find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago.
I’m a big musical theatre nerd, and this I think the best movie musicals I’ve seen.
Also pay attention to the background dancers during We Both Reached For The Gun. So impressive I love this movie deeply
The singing & musical dynamic is its main point, but it still missed it. The play is better. The movie is just a start studded cast, if that’s what you care about, then waste your time with this; otherwise, spend a little more and go watch the play.
