Pure 80's Action Movie Perfection.
Every check box crossed; Fast loud cars, guns that never run out of bullets, Made-for-the-Movie cocaine fueled synth ballads, spouse casting, witty post mortem one liners, gear-up montages, boobs, the good guy always wins and has a complete disregard for Habeas Corpus.
Everything an 80's action movie should be.
Save your abstract reviews for art films, pull out that annoying wedgie that is making you grumpy, and just enjoy it.
Will Marion Cobretti ever get to finish his pepperoni pizza?
The crime in this city says I dont think so!
My quick rating - 5.7/10. Hit shuffle while working and it chose a good candidate I have seen quite a few times just not for a while and not while in my collection. 30 years ago, this was an over-the-top action flick. I will say that it still at least holds up decently, especially the video game-style shootout scenes. Fun stuff, but nothing beyond a popcorn flick and some zingers. Still a must-have for the Sylvester Stallone 80s collection.
So incredibly ridiculous yet so ridiculously entertaining.
Featuring songs from Gladys Knight and Bill Medley, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, and Miami Sound Machine among others. You can’t sound much more ‘80s than that.
Oh and I have an idea for a club, or a gang, or maybe even a cult. I’m not sure what our ideology would be, really, but for sure at every meeting we’ll gather in a dimly lit old factory or warehouse or whatever dank abandoned building we can find, and we’ll all stand around each with two double-bladed axes and rhythmically clang them together over our heads. And no talking. It’ll be way cool, dude.
