There’s just something about this movie. It’s slow, emotional, and quietly powerful. Nicole Kidman is good, but Renée Zellweger is truly amazing and completely steals it with a performance that feels raw and real. Beautifully shot, haunting, and deeply moving. One that lingers with you long after it ends.

It’s a hillbilly Odyssey, but not funny like O Brother Where Art Thou. Serious and painful, like real life.

A bloody, gritty romance set in the civil war. Heartbreaking in many ways. Dark times. Incredible performances.

Love this movie, i think it's one of Jude Law's best performances if not the best. It was both entertaining and heartbreaking all at once; all that blood, the struggle, the emotions and of course Renee and Nicole were just as astounding. These kinds of stories make you appreciate what we got in this time even though we still try so hard to screw errthn up. Why are we always in a hurry to fight and kill each other over the very things we will die and leave behind anyway, depriving ourselves of the joy, peace and love we could actually enjoy? So captivating. This classic is Certainly worth a rewatch.
