Charting the last 10 days of Hitler's life, from his 56th birthday on April 20th, 1945 to his suicide on April 30th, Downfall uses multiple characters to show the chaos of a country coming apart at the seams, from Hitler's henchman under the streets of Berlin, to the soldiers and civilians fighting and dying as the Soviet Army ravaged the city above. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2005.

Memes aside, this is one of the best WW2 movies ever made. Every performance is steadfastly memorable. The attention to detail in timelines, set design, scripting, and costumes is legendary. It's one of the best examples of the crux of human nature: that everyone believes they're doing the right thing, and they're the hero of their own story.
Once again, Hermann Fegelein to aisle 3 please.
Solid WW2 movie about the last days of the Germans in Berlin. Hitler kills himself in this so you can't go wrong with that
Greatest war film ever made. None shall ever surpass this. The sheer magnitude and utter monstrosity of the empire Hitler built is so surreal, I felt like I was watching his final breath. This is what happens when absolute power sheds all humanity and becomes the world's most notorious criminal. DEATH.
Well acted, interesting, some new info for me, but to be honest hard to feel empathy or strong emotion other than, "yeah well.."
Good jumping off point for some after-viewing reading.
Good triumphs over evil. Always a crowd pleaser. What makes this movie different is that we view it entirely from the side of the latter. It's a rather unique POV that works. Spending virtually the entire movie inside Hitler's bunker and amongst his inner circle is as intriguing to the mind as it is unsettling to the soul.
Incredibly intense. Acting is superb. Set design is *chef's kiss*. Matthew had a hard time following a long though because of the subtitles.
It's slightly unnerving, because you might find yourself sympathetic towards Hitler at times. The movie held my attention, and seemed very real. It's not a movie I wish needed to be made, but it tells a story that I think is important to remember.
Absolute masterpiece . The accuracy of the bunkers detail down to the size of every room shows how serious they were about getting (most things ) right .
This an outstanding film. It’s shocking in so many ways. That these people could be this committed all the way to their end, it’s just stunning.
