It's been said that sequels are never good. Enola Holmes 2 is proof that such words are merely a stereotype. Not everyone would see it as an improvement, but the energy definitely shifted here. The jokes were there, just a littke bit less all over the place. This time our characters take thinks a little more seriously, and in my book, it was a good look. Great cast as usual, and besides the usual suspects, I want to give a shout-out to Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Mira Troy) for an outstanding performance, perhaps as good as to become my favorite.

Enola Holmes 2 does not hold up as a good movie on rewatch. Positives: - The movie is well made, well directed, well shot, well edited, and well paced - The movie visually looks really good and once again masters the 1800s look and feel with great costumes and great cinematography - The score is really good - The performances are decent - The characters are fun enough - The movie has a great message about women and has an uplifting third act Negatives: - The movie is extremely generic and doesn’t have the same feel as the first one - The plot is pretty much the same thing as the first just different characters - The dialogue isn’t very well written - The fight Choreography makes zero sense especially in the third act - The twists are extremely obvious and not very well executed Overall Enola Holmes 2 is a mediocre movie at best on rewatch.

My quick rating - 6.6/10. After enjoying the first Enola Holmes reasonably well, it is time to check out the sequel. Millie Bobby Brown is again doing a great job in the lead role, and her asides directly with the audience are very amusing. This time around, our teen super sleuth takes on her first case, and this time around is stuck into a conspiracy far deeper than the initial missing girl case she starts with. If you just saw, I did actually like this one a tad bit more than the first, and there really is only one reason. I liked the incorporation of Sherlock (again played by Henry Cavill) to assist in the case, not because she needs help, but because they develop a nice sibling bond along the way. This dynamic also helped open the doors for further adventures as Enola becomes a detective for hire on her own. I really didn't expect that these movies were going to be such a good bit of entertainment, but I am pleasantly surprised at what I ended up with. The sets and costumes were nicely done and bring you into the era of the story. All around well-made flick that is worth checking out, and for once from my reviews, you can bring the kids in the room as well LOL.

Even better than the first Enola Holmes, which I also liked quite a bit. Millie Bobby Brown is as charming as ever with so much more space to display her talent than she ever gets in the Stranger Things. Henry Cavill has even more screen time this go round and it’s all the better for it. Both of these movies have this weird quality of being immensely enjoyable yet at the same time completely forgettable. But that’s kind of exactly what we’re looking for sometimes from our family entertainment.  Can easily recommend this.
