This shockingly magnificent film thoroughly redeems Baz Luhrmann from the sins of his horrid 2022 biopic ``Elvis.'' ``EPIC'' begins with a clever mini-documentary (a la ``Citizen Kane'') summarizing Presley's outsized 1950s fame before seamlessly segueing into something approaching a standard concert film interspersed with rehearsal and interview scenes. But this is no ordinary concert footage: The impetus for the project came during the Australian director's research for his 2022 film, when he discovered a trove of material chronicling the early days of Presley's residency at Las Vegas casinos, and began the painstaking process of recovering and synching the audio to match the wonderful images. Aside from blessing viewers with music that rocks as hard as anything ever heard on FM radio, ``EPIC'' really puts you in the front row of those early '70s casino shows, decked out in your own leisure suit or beehive hairdo. Footage of the King's interaction with the audience will make you understand the religious devotion fans still feel for Elvis to this day. Finally and most poignantly, this film rescues the reputation of Elvis' later career. The stereotype of the bloated has-been slogging his way through rote concerts in a pill-popping stupor vanishes before our eyes, replaced by a vital performer in full command of his band and his mind, clearly blessed and grateful to be on stage again in all his glory. This is Elvis indeed!

This concert footage was put together so well and Elvis sounded so crisp and the audio was so good you got to hear Elvis sound different (better) than any footage ive ever been able to view on YouTube or any other Elvis documentary or concert that aired on TV. I immediately downloaded and paid for it to view on Apple TV. Totally worth it. Elvis was an amazing soul and was just a genuine loving and caring person. He seemed so down to earth and had a great sense of humor. He seemed like he loved pranking his crew and having a good time and made sure they all got to enjoy all the things he was able to. I wish I would have been alive back then to see him perform. 😉

Luhrmann's ADHD editing style aside, this was a powerful presentation of Elvis, his creative process, and overwhelming stage presence.

I would ALWAYS watch anything related to The King... the last Elvis movie was good, a good movie, but it was horrible to watch... to know how his manager manipulated and took advantage of him was awful. This biopic, however, is just a wonderful "can't-get-your-feet-to-stand-still" (I'm so glad I live in a ground floor) celebration of the life, music, persona, and amazing talent of one of the best musicians and showmen in humanity's history... All I can say is... ALL HAIL THE KING!!!

Well this completely erased the other Elvis thing Baz did. Because it's the Elvis I wanted to see this whole time. And boy, does he kick complete ass.

A meticulously crafted piece of history that places its ultimate focus on giving the stage to the greatest of all time. This is a deeply moving masterpiece that puts the 'Elvis Presley experience' front and center in its purest and most touching form. All credit goes to Baz Luhrmann for delivering this absolute piece of gold.

A treat for anyone that remembers and misses the great entertainer Elvis Presley. The video looks like it was shot yesterday, not more than a half century ago. Remarkable.
