Where to Watch Ernest Goes to Camp
- cornbredxJuly 23, 2026I saw this movie last 35 years ago so I had weird fractured memories of it before seeing it again. I have fond memories of Ernest movies so my thoughts are tainted, but I still Ernest is a funny character and being put into these situations was why we wanted to watch. They also found fun ways to make other characters around Ernest stand out. Especially in this one where you can tell they aren't entirely sure yet if Ernest is funny enough to be the reason to see the movie. Other than Ernest being funny this is a standard 80s movie, really. A summer camp movie you don't really see that much anymore mixed with the big bad corporation wants to destroy the cool place where kids hang out. It's just one of those. It's not high art, and not even my favorite Ernest movie, but it's still a lot of fun to reinvest some time hanging out with Ernest and his friends to save a summer camp for a moment of nostalgia.
