It's Christopher Nolans first film and was made for about $10k. While it's interesting to see how he did on his first outing (surprisingly well), it's still a low budget b&w thriller. So unless you are a Nolan completist, watch one of his later films

The nonlinear story telling here effectively weave some narrative twists into this noir-ish tale. Really enjoyed seeing the genesis of some of Nolan’s filmmaking hallmarks. It’s a little slow at the start playing out seemingly in linear fashion. It’s when Nolan reveals that this is a nonlinear story, that I became totally engrossed. The main character’s hair length changes, bruises appear on his face, we start to witness events that were alluded to in the past tense in previous scenes. Putting the puzzle together makes for a really engaging watch even if it’s not thematically rich. Worth checking out, especially for fans of Nolan’s other films, plus it’s a breezy 70 minutes.
