For young Charley Brewster, nothing could be better than an old horror movie late at night. Two men move in next door, and for Charley with his horror movie experience, there can be no doubt that they are a vampire and his day guardian. The only one who can help him hunt them down is a washed-up actor, Peter Vincent, who hosts Charley's favorite TV show, Fright Night. But Vincent doesn't really believe that vampires exist.

Such an awesome vampire movie for the 80's. It has a lot of action, suspense, some horror and some romance. Hey, in the end the hero saves the girl. You have a classic bad guy vampire and his ghoul helper who also gets it towards the end. Thank you for this classic horror movie.

Classic 80’s horror with just the right amount of humor sprinkled throughout the movie. They don’t make them like this anymore.

🧛🏼‍♂️ When Zillow doesn’t mention the vampire next door… and it knows your name 😬 I’m not usually one drawn to vampire movies, but Fright Night is a rare exception. It’s sharply written, confidently directed, well-acted, perfectly paced and impressively produced. The remake doesn’t come close to capturing what made the original such a gem. Even with a few dated effects, as you’d expect from a film of its era, it still holds up remarkably well. The mix of horror, humor, suspense and old-school charm gives it a personality the remake never quite manages to recreate.

Dated, as you can imagine, but good fun and with a whole coffin load of 80's SFX that are still a good watch. Difficult to call it a horror, even at the time, with lots of goofy lines, goofier characters and a humorous and playful look at classic horror movie tropes rather than gore galore. Not so many Fright's, but will offer a good, old fashioned movie Night in.
