He chooses to keep the Ghost Rider so he can use that power against evil and protect innocent people. Then the sequel opens with essentially: “Hey, want your curse removed?”

- Doc WormJuly 29, 2026Style over substance with not enough style to go around. I was genuinely shocked to see this movie cost 57 MILLION DOLLARS to make because it looks so cheap. My assumption is most of that cost went to Nic Cage, Idris Alba, a European road trip and a LOT of cocaine. Part of what makes it look so cheap is Neveldine and Taylor’s distinct handy cam filming style that simply is not a good fit for this film. The camera work is straight up nauseating at points. A script and plot is so basic that it boils down to people just kind of standing around and talking at each other at point A and point B. When Johnny devolves from his Ghost Rider possession he literally says “yeah, so that just happened”. That’s not to be said there’s no some fun to be had here it’s just so sparse. There’s a few moments where Cage gets to deliver his signature over the top delivery and when he actually turns into the titular spirit of vengeance. Specifically the Quarry fight and the finale. Wish they leaned more into him turning various rides into their hellish equivalent because it’s honestly pretty damn cool.

- RedHarlow13March 9, 20264.5/10 - Crank Rider 2 Spirit Of Mid This movie is so far off the original feel & tone of the first movie its crazy. If you expected Ghost Rider 1 but better, sorry but nah it is way off here for me sadly. After seeing it was made by the producers of Crank 1&2 i can now see why there is so many weird scenes, Camera cuts and Camera angles. I enjoyed the first one, this though not so much.
