- J-M DesmeulesJuly 26, 2026It's Ghoulies! The puppets are crap, the actors are the worst, and the effects are not the best either: but it's part of my growing up in the 80s. It's a low-budget, horror comedy for older kids and adults to entertain, not scare anyone. So it's a cult movie, made all by hands at the time and that has been enjoyed even since in living rooms, bedrooms, basements and films fests, etc. It's a five-star not because it is the best movie, but because it's always one of the best intros to the horror genre when you're young and thus stays a favorite for most everyone fan of horror maybe?
