Where to Watch Giant
- Todd DaleJuly 16, 2026Giant (1956) is a landmark American epic. Directed by George Stevens, the sweeping adaptation of Edna Ferber's novel spans decades to explore the oil boom, changing wealth, and complex social issues. The film famously features Academy Award-nominated performances by Rock Hudson and James Dean (his final role before his tragic death)
- jradar9January 19, 2026Giant stages its moral argument across land, oil, and three faces weathered by time. Just put it on and let it play. You'll be living with these people for 3 hours. In that time changes will have occurred. One is slow to find acceptance, one rises too fast and never find meaning, and one understands from the beginning and, even with constraints, endurances. We enjoyed this one much more than we thought we would.
- mickerdooNovember 5, 2025Even with a beautiful shining example of a wife, it still took Bick three hours to see the error of his ways. Stubborn in the least charming way. And Jett started sour and only got more bitter with wealth. Uncle was about the only worthwhile male role model. Interesting to see the family grow old and push their parents into new thinking.
