Doggie Darko Paranormal Barktivity Underwhelming! Solid premise that could have been excellent with the right execution! The behind-the-scenes extra footage at the end was embarrassingly simplistic and felt condescending and genuinely out of touch lmfao oh wait. I just realized this is PG-13 and marketed for kids too. Okay it gets a pass bc of that I guess

Nothing about this film was great other than the performance of the dog.

Indy isnt just a good boy, he is the best boy.

The story struggles to move itself along at times, but otherwise perfection. Beautifully shot, 10/10 performance from the lead actor and easily the most innovative modern horror movie

Watching Good Boy immediately after Presence turned out to be an unexpectedly fitting double feature. One tells its story through the eyes of a ghost, the other through the constant companionship of a dog, and both find creative ways to approach familiar haunted house territory. Good Boy deserves credit for trusting that idea instead of treating it like a gimmick. Indy is a remarkably expressive screen presence, and it's surprising how naturally the film teaches you to read his instincts without relying on endless exposition. For a modest independent horror film, that's an idea worth applauding. For a while, I actually convinced myself the film was eventually going to switch into the dog's literal point of view, and I was initially disappointed when it never did. Looking back, I think staying beside Indy instead of behind his eyes was the smarter decision. It lets him remain a character rather than turning the entire film into a filmmaking exercise. I was also impressed by how good the film looked considering its modest resources, with cinematography that often elevated scenes the script couldn't quite match. My bigger issue was that the screenplay never quite reached the same level as the concept. The unseen presence at the center of the story remains deliberately elusive, and while I understand why the filmmakers made that choice, I kept hoping for just a little more definition by the Nonetheless, I appreciated that the filmmakers were trying something different, and in a genre overflowing with interchangeable haunted house stories, Good Boy is the kind of small swing I'd rather see than another film content to recycle the same old ideas.

The Shining but if Danny was a dog.

The dog acts better than anyone else, but it's like they repeat the same scene over and over. Nice idea, could have been better.

Great horror film from a unique perspective. The lead actor is amazing. I was expecting more action; the ending was a little weird. I love how the dialogue is used, with the humans never being the focal point of any scene. Lesson: party attention to what your pet is trying to tell you!
