Robert Neville is a scientist who was unable to stop the spread of the terrible virus that was incurable and man-made. Immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and perhaps the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone.

It cracks me up when he starts reciting Shrek lines, lol. It's a pretty good zombie movie, though I'm pretty sure I wouldn't survive two days in that universe.

It's one of my favourite films, not just because it's my favourite genre, it taps into thoughts of all the things we take for granted as humans... Will fills the screen with massive abilities around emotional intelligence. Bravo

Whenever my mind feels off and I’m not in the right headspace, I watch this masterpiece. This movie is one of my favorites.

Still looks great after 18 years. It does suffer with pacing and story issues. It's a 6.5/10 for me. Worth a watch but once will do.

It's intense, Will Smith is perfect as the only main character, it has emotion, and it all works

Story - 1/2 I'm a sucker for dystopian / zombie movies and as much as I like this, I feel the movie hides a lot expecting the audience to fill in some info. Example is when the mannequin is moved from the store to the street. Some people are conflicted if Smith moved it and is crashing out or the dark seekers did it. Obviously its the dark seekers but couldn't that scene be shown or perhaps more explanation given regarding them exhibiting intelligence of even setting up a trap? There are also some convenient close-call scenes. Couldn't we be shown Anna arriving at the pier earlier before saving Smith that night or them driving to his place and trailed by the seekers? How were the seekers also able to quickly trace the basement lab? Screenplay - 0.5/1 Comprehensible but could be better. Seemed hurried probably due to budget constraints. The fact that there is an alternate ending which was actually meant to be the real ending proves it. 90mins is less time for such a movie. Visuals - 0.5/1 Watched the 4K upscaled version. Upscale quality is ok-ish. (Seen better restorations). Some CGI elements like the lions, deer don't hold up as much. However, the post apocalyptic New York is stunning. Too many ad placements though. Ford Mustang, Wicked, Superman, Apple, Shrek (funny one though) Sound - 0.5/1 Not much surround emphasis. Sound mostly pans the LCR channels of the home theatre. The night ambush at the pier was a missed opportunity for some good surround effects. Explosions not as thunderous on subs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Overall - 2.5/5. Hopefully the sequel in production will be better and lengthier

I like Will Smith movies, excluding comedies. This movie was no exception. Any vaccine that sounds too good to be true, probably is. I'm still waiting on y'all to turn. O.o

I Am Legend (2007) marks the third cinematic adaptation of Richard Matheson’s novel, and while it retains the core premise of a lone survivor in a devastated world, it diverges significantly—most notably in its ending. Earlier versions emphasized loneliness and isolation against foes that still felt human, but this film pushes further, rendering the infected as feral, alien-like creatures through CGI. That choice heightens the sense of desolation, leaving Will Smith’s Robert Neville truly alone in a hostile environment. Smith delivers a powerful performance, carrying the film with emotional depth and physical intensity, his solitude palpable in every scene. The atmosphere is bleak yet compelling, with New York transformed into a hauntingly empty landscape. Though the deviations from the source material may frustrate purists, I Am Legend succeeds as a tense, thought-provoking survival story, exploring humanity’s fragility and resilience in the face of extinction.
