Great movie. Watching this for the first time since it came out when I watched it in a theater. Kinda wild we are actually seeing robots being produced now. The movie is set just 10 years into our future in 2035. Makes you wonder LOL

classic early 2000's action romp, very little to do with the book besides some character names and vague world similarities, unhook your brain and enjoy the action, and will smith taking a stoic shower.

Really fun movie with a solid pace and a concept that still works. It’s got that early 2000s sci-fi charm, a bit cheesy in places, but never dull. Will Smith carries it with ease — the kind of performance that keeps everything engaging even when things get a bit predictable. Some effects look dated now, but it still holds up as an easy, entertaining watch you can revisit without much effort.

Although in general not a big fan of Will Smith, he is excellent in this straight, non-wise cracking role. The story is really good, grips you throughout and is carried along at a good pace. It is not a film that over dwells on the 'marvels' of the technology or the beaty of shots as some sci-fi films do. Although it is well shot and the CGI is great. You are easily convinced with the world that is displayed. That robots are a fully acepted and trusted part of this world's daily life. As it was filmed as a detective story, you only really learn what Will Smith discovers, which really works as a story device. The robot Sunny and in particular the portrayal of his facial expressions help make the film. The robots are definitely not just men in suits.

Its ok. Nothing special. The only right spot is, as always, Alan Tudyk.

Inching towards making this movie a reality every day, like a way more realistic terminator situation, it’s a good watch, give it a go.

hits really hard in 2025, will not be surprised if an outcome similar to this is reality 10 years from now

What a Sci-Fi should be, technical, logical and accurate. Good script, one of Smiths best serious movies.

I’m sorry that I missed this back in 2004. Seeing the movie in the era of ChatGPT makes its message all the more cogent.

Mostly great effects with a humanized robot. Interesting world building. And a whodunnit that keeps you guessing til the end.
