- hi_phiMay 12, 2026I was a bit too young when E.T. was released in theaters, but I watched Mac and Me numerous times on VHS tape and I now understand why I always liked Skittles. 😆 I rented E.T. earlier and it doesn't put a smile on my face like Mac and Me does. It's so weird, yet funny. It's really a work of its own time. 😅❤️ I bought a 4K HDR release and that's why I'm reviewing the movie right now. I have to say that the physical release from Vinegar Syndrome is stellar. There are two audio commentary tracks, including one with the director/co-writer and an interviewer. If you liked Mac and Me as a kid and are reading this review, you should very probably just go and buy the movie! There's a regular Blu-ray if you are not into 4K and its quirks.
