It's weird, goofy, and has a sense of humor that feels like it was made specifically for people who enjoy movies that are just a little bit off. The cast is stacked, everyone seems to understand the assignment, and the movie never loses sight of the fact that it's supposed to be fun. The more chaotic it gets, the more entertaining it becomes. At the same time, I can see why it doesn't work for everyone. The tone is all over the place, some jokes land better than others, and the story isn't exactly the main attraction. But that's kind of the point. It's a movie that succeeds more through personality than precision, and its willingness to be strange is what makes it so memorable. One of those films that's much easier to appreciate once you accept its wavelength.
- JeremiahMay 9, 2026Far as movies based on trading card sets (this and Garbage Pail Kids), this is firmly in first place. This bonkers movie is a fun time in a shallow substance type of way. It flourishes on countless celeb cameos, cheesy cartoonish (but appropriately so) cgi, wonton destruction with no reason other than the gimmick of “this will be fun.” And it is. Burton’s original plan was to do stop motion and i cant help but think of just how much more awesome that woulda been. Let Burton do a horrifically rated r violent Dinosaurs Attack movie based on the cards next. Demon dinosaurs is the logical next step after this movie.
- CyndriaOctober 28, 2025Hilarious 😂! Lots of scenes I didn't remember. The aliens were jerks had me laughing so hard. Especially the scene when he shock the presidents hand. Or when the aliens rolled around the translator machine saying "we come in peace". A classic to watch everytime your in the mood for weird, creepy funny sci-fi.
