Where to Watch Men in Black: International
- ርልዪረMarch 7, 2025This takes the series in the wrong direction for me. All of the other films trod a fine line between fantasy and a nearly believable scenario with sharp wit. (Not sure how else to describe what made the first film as good as it was, but I think it's the idea that it could have been real, but played in a comedic way... Think about it..) This jumped over the "believable" line for me and broke the spell that this could be a real. The acting was fine but the story was a bit naff. It started well, but went downhill quickly. If MiB were "real", we'd all know about them if they acted as this film depicts.
- RichardOctober 5, 2025I streamed this one, and yeah… it didn’t do much for me. You go in hoping it’ll recapture some of that old MIB charm, slick suits, weird aliens, dry humor. But right away, you can tell it’s missing something. No Will Smith, no Tommy Lee Jones. Just Hemsworth and Thompson trying to make it work and it kind of doesn’t. Hemsworth plays it like he’s half in on the joke, half asleep. Thompson’s solid, but the chemistry they had in Thor: Ragnarok doesn’t really show up here. The story’s all over the place, there’s a mole in the agency, some alien artifact, a bunch of globe hopping and none of it really sticks. You’re watching it, but you’re not in it. The CGI is everywhere. Like, everywhere and not in a good way. The original had aliens that felt real, gross, funny and practical. This one’s just pixels flying around. Streaming it was easy, but honestly, I could’ve paused halfway through and never gone back. It’s not terrible, just kind of… empty. Like they dressed it up in the MIB brand but forgot to bring the soul. If you’re curious, sure, watch it. But if you grew up with the originals, this one’s gonna feel like a knockoff trying too hard to be cool.
