Positives: - The movie is well made, well directed, well shot, well edited, and well paced - The film visually looks good with some really good cinematography, CGI, and Green Screens Negatives: - Other than the girl who plays Moana the performances are really bad - The costumes in this film are horrible - The dialogue is really bad - The casting is just not it - The comedy is painfully unfunny - All of the slight changes they made in the film are extremely unnecessary - The movie doesn’t feel like the original in the slightest bit - The movie is also extremely lifeless - The songs are also terrible because of the new cast - The film itself is pretty much a shot for shot remake that just does everything horribly and also brings nothing new to the table Overall The Live-Action Remake of Moana is a horrible Live-Action Remake.

Take it from a parent who has had to watch the original twice a day on a never-ending loop: the critics have it totally wrong. Don't listen to the people who just complain for a living. My kids are a bit older now, but they loved this version just as much as we loved the original the very first time. Do yourself a favor, ignore the reviews, and don't spend the whole time comparing it to the animated. Just watch it and enjoy it for what it is!
