- James SaenzApril 23, 2026this is what holly golightly meant by the mean reds. i can’t even begin to articulate how this affected me. everything is liminal, occupying a place in between; between fear and loathing, love and resentment, devastation and euphoria. art and relationships born of and maintained by and desecrated by terrible, awesome and unspeakable things. connections that span time and space and realms and mediums. what is beautiful to one may be unbearable to another but there is a connection in that shared experience. between this, the green knight and a ghost story, lowery has affected me in a fundamental and visceral way. the music was transcendent and reminded me of what it felt like to see allie x in concert for the first time, especially “holy spirit”. beautiful film in every aspect.
- Doc WormJune 3, 2026An exhausting slog- but I bet this hits like crack in the 80s for lesbian theater kids. It’s undeniable that our leads have tremendous chemistry and terrific delivery. But holy fuck- two HOURS of these back and forth metaphors is a bit much. Perhaps if it was in service of something bigger it might be worth the trek but for me it simply was not. Would have preferred to just read the script. Also- they put Hunter Schafer in legally as little time as possible. Criminal to have her billed third and she’s barely in! Minus points for that!
- macaronzMay 27, 2026This movie was a bit too deep for me, and honestly, a lot of it went completely over my head. I also didn't particularly care for the stage performances. In simple terms, as of my understanding it's a story about a massive pop star who goes to a famous designer for her stage wardrobe. The main takeaway is how celebrities get trapped in a cage by their own larger than life fame and there fans worship them like God.

This is a movie where I knew almost nothing about and I wanted to see what David Lowery was cooking with this one and I have to say the movie was really damn great.The acting is superb. The artistry is top notch.
