Somehow more 80s than vampire. Fun to see young Carey. Hutton, Kopins, Little and the two friends were nice additions.

"[He] doesn't want you because you're mean and evil. He wants me because I'm nice and sweet and pure. SO F--- OFF!" ...best dialog ever, of all time!

My quick rating - 5.4/10. Jim Carrey on the rise. Mildly amusing flick. Poor guy just doesn't want to be a vampire but the gorgeous bloodsucker wants his virgin soul all to her own. The dance-off scene totally out of place in this movie is by far the high/lowlight.

🧛🏻‍♂️ Once bitten, twice bored. A comedy that sucked and not in a vampire way. Even for a mid-80s flick, it’s easy to see why this one flopped at the box office. It’s just bad. Not even in that charming “so-bad-it’s-good” way some ’80s movies manage, but flat-out terrible. The writing is painfully simple, and Carrey’s character is outshined by his own sidekicks, who bring the only real laughs. There isn’t much else to praise, though the pacing is surprisingly solid. It would take another nine years before we’d see Carrey truly in his element.
