- James SaenzOctober 7, 2025very cute but more of the same. the success of the original one cut of the dead is due to the creativity and novelty of the surprise twist, as well as the ensuing battle to make a challenging live production with constant complications somehow work. this has a lower production value and shorter runtime, which really restricts its effectiveness. i still enjoyed my time, but it’s hard to make lightning strike the same way twice.
