    An analysis of the bravery, cowardice, hypocrisy, beuracracy and utter farce of WW1 trench warfare. The fact it does what it does in less than 90 minutes is absolutely remarkable. Whole-heartedly recommended.

    Paths of Glory is one of Kirk Douglas best performances as Col Dax, working to save his men from being shot as cowards. Everything about the movie is well done. There is no bad acting, the pace, photography and dialogue are some of the best you'll ever see. Scene after scene is more powerful than the one preceding. It's a classic movie, deserving a place on anyone best movie list.

    Much more compelling than I expected, Kirk Douglas' melodrama notwithstanding. If you've ever held contempt for any form of management, this movie will resonate with at least some part of you.

    The depravity of a corrupt authorities who, in the name of their own interests, do not hesitate to send people to their certain death, and punish refusal to carry out a suicide attack with death. Kubrick's deeply moving anti-war film.
