- macaronzJune 16, 2026Once again, an ensemble star cast fails to save a weak film. While Patriot is a average spy thriller, its biggest problem is the lengthy runtime. The major drawback here is definitely the excessive length, which makes the film quite boring in sections. Mammootty delivers a solid performance as usual, but I personally didn't care for his role or character arc in the movie. It feels like the filmmakers were trying too hard to mimic a James Bond film. Fans of slow burn espionage cinema might find something to enjoy here, but otherwise, it's just an average movie to me.
