Where to Watch Pineapple Express
- Zokkiie3d agoThis is the kind of comedy that gets funnier the more out of control it becomes. What starts off fairly simple eventually turns into complete chaos, and somehow it keeps working. Seth Rogen and James Franco play off each other perfectly, and a lot of the laughs come from how seriously everyone treats increasingly ridiculous situations. As a huge Apatow fan, this is exactly the sort of messy, endlessly quotable comedy that hits my sweet spot. It definitely runs a little long, and not every joke lands as well as the movie thinks it does. There are a few stretches where it could have tightened things up without losing anything important. Still, the cast is having way too much fun for that to matter much. The mix of stoner comedy, action, and pure stupidity shouldn't work nearly as well as it does, but somehow it all comes together.
- KGM SOSAMarch 4, 2026I used to love this movie when I was young & then even more in my teens-early 20s when I was a stoner, I was afraid I was not gonna like it anymore since I quit smoking a few years ago, however I couldn’t of been more wrong, this movie is still hilarious. I’m not even a big fan of comedies, I have a great sense of humour but movies often fail to make me laugh. But Pineapple Express, as well as the other Franco-Rogan comedies never fail to make me laugh, they are an iconic duo, their chemistry natural, chaotic & completely unforced. It’s a shame Rogan betrayed Franco when the allegations were brewing because even though the allegations have died & been proven to be false (or rather overblown), we will probably never get another Franco-Rogan movie There’s is so many iconic scenes in this movie & numerous quotes that have become real world catchphrases, this movie has become a cult classic, it’s obviously not a classic in the serious artsy, high concept nature of a Hitchcock, Kubrick, Tarantino or Scorsese film, but in its own ridiculous wacky/cheesy comedy way it sure has become a timeless classic akin to Borat, The Mask, Scary Movie, Airplane!, Etc. Even if you don’t like stoner comedies, or stoner movies in general, I assure you that you will like this & at the very least laugh a few times. Although I hate to admit it because I usually watch & review classy, artsy & pretentious films & reserve high ratings for them exclusively, I have to give Pineapple Express an 8/10 (Great / Really liked it / Would recommend), it’s the film that birthed other Rogan & Franco movies like ‘The Interview’ & ‘This is the End’
- Mars SwiodornOctober 13, 2025This is my favourite comedy film of all time. Its so funny and has quotable catchphrases/lines in almost every scene.. The pacing and structure is perfect for a building of action and tension within a comedic overtone. So many great characters and performances the casting was perfect throughout even bit parts had memorable funny lines. Rogan and Franco have a great on screen chemistry. Perfect blend of over the top action with comedy, where the jokes are actually funny, somewhat unexpected jokes flying in from every angle and plenty of surprises to keep you hooked along the way. Soundtrack is incredible too. Must see. 8.8/10
- cultfilmlikerJune 24, 2025Endlessly quotable. Watched in 4K. Worth it. Holds up. The bit about the Jeff Goldblum impression stands out upon my 48th viewing of this film Been a stoner for about 15 years. Have probably quoted this movie in some way the majority of those days lmao Ken Jeong and Bobby Lee is one hell of a combo
