I just watched Pitch Perfect 3 and I give it 3 out of 5 stars. This movie had moments that were fun and energetic, but it also felt like the series was starting to run out of ideas. I enjoyed returning to these characters because the Bellas have a certain charm that makes them easy to root for, but the story does not feel as strong or as focused as the first two films. It has humor, music, and emotion, but the balance feels uneven. Even with those mixed feelings, I still had a good time watching it because there are scenes that remind you why the series became so popular. The cast continues to be the best part of the Pitch Perfect movies. Anna Kendrick brings her calm confidence and emotional depth to her character, and she continues to make every scene feel natural. Rebel Wilson adds her usual chaotic humor, which sometimes hits perfectly and sometimes feels a little overdone. The rest of the Bellas bring their own personalities, and it is nice seeing them perform together again. Their chemistry feels real because you can tell they have grown comfortable with each other over the years. The group dynamic still has heart even when the story around them feels a little scattered. The music is enjoyable, although it does not feel as fresh as the previous movies. The mashups and performances are still fun to watch, and there are a couple of moments where the singing really shines. But the soundtrack does not hit the same high energy that the earlier films delivered. The performances are entertaining, but they do not feel as iconic or surprising. Still, the Bellas performing together will always have a certain spark to it, and those scenes remain some of the strongest parts of the movie. The story is where the movie struggles. Instead of focusing on the emotional growth of the characters or the challenges of moving forward in life, the plot adds action elements that feel unnecessary. It takes the series in a direction that does not really match the tone of the earlier films. The first two movies were about friendship, music competitions, and personal growth. This one tries to mix in a dramatic subplot that feels out of place. It creates a fun adventure at times, but it also takes attention away from the emotional core. Even with that, the movie does explore the idea of change and letting go. There are moments where the characters face the reality of growing up and moving on from something that defined their lives for years. Those scenes feel honest and heartfelt, and they remind you that the Bellas have always been more than just a singing group. They are friends who helped each other through important parts of their lives. When the movie slows down and focuses on those emotions, it feels strong again. The humor is mixed. Some jokes made me laugh, especially the ones tied to the characters’ personalities. Other jokes felt repetitive or forced. It is not as sharp as the first two films, but it still has enough funny moments to keep the tone light and enjoyable. By the time Pitch Perfect 3 ended, I felt like it was a fun but uneven movie. It has heart, humor, and music, but it lacks the tight storytelling and originality of the earlier films. It earned its 3 out of 5 rating from me.

Poor film. Poor plot. Poor acting. Poor execution. My poor eyes.
