This movie took forever to be released and even then pulled down after the release. The picturization of what happened in Punjab in 1995 is horrifying and not for the faint of heart. Fantastically done and very moving. Diljit was excellent.

You know it highlights something important when the Indian government has been trying to ban and stop its release for years now. Great movie and brought this hero's story back to the spotlight.

I have nothing to talk about it... I watched it on 4 th of July , 7:34 pm(the time I started watching it) and after watching this film , I didn't watch any film or a TV show for a week now. Because it has shook me to the core. I kept thinking about this film all day. It needs some balls to craft this masterpiece....................

Satluj originally titled Punjab '95 before its long struggle with the censor board is a gritty, raw, and deeply courageous political drama. The core premise of the film exposes a chilling reality: the lengths to which the state machinery will go to preserve its grip on power and suppress dissenting voices, even if it means sacrificing innocent civilians and framing them as terrorists. Set against the backdrop of the 1980s Punjab militancy, the narrative chronicles the real life struggles of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. From a cinematic standpoint, the film features an incredibly compelling presentation of these historical events. The entire cast delivers stellar performances; the actor portraying the ruthless police officer is chillingly effective in his negative role, while Diljit Dosanjh truly shines, bringing immense depth to the character of Jaswant. Shockingly, the state of censorship in India now mirrors that of authoritarian regimes like China; just two days after its digital premiere on Zee5, the film was abruptly pulled from the platform.
