- Mister ArnAugust 7, 2026“Rally 'Round the Flag, Boys!” is a comedy that feels like an old 1950s sitcom, but it never finds anyone strong enough to carry the humor. There are plenty of setups for laughs, yet too many of the jokes simply don't land. I also had a hard time believing the relationship between the husband and wife. She seems far more interested in committee meetings than in her marriage, while he can't even remember his own children's birthdays. Maybe that was meant to be part of the satire, but it never felt believable enough for me to invest in the characters. In the end, it just didn't work for me.
