- RichardOctober 18, 2025Saw this one after the original, curious, hopeful and ready for more blade burrowing paranoia. But what I got felt more like a low budget echo than a proper sequel. A new squad arrives on Sirius 6-B after an SOS signal, only to find survivors holed up in a military outpost and Screamers that have evolved into something more… humanoid. The setup had potential: isolation, mystery and the promise of upgraded terror. But the execution? Flat. The pacing drags, the effects feel recycled and the tension never quite lands. Gina Holden leads the cast with solid effort and Lance Henriksen shows up to lend some genre cred, but even he can’t elevate the script beyond its predictable beats. The Screamers’ ability to mimic humans should’ve been chilling, it’s a classic Dickian twist, but here it’s underplayed and over explained. I wanted dread, I got dialogue. I wanted evolution, I got exposition. It’s the kind of movie that made adult years feel mildly disappointed, slightly nostalgic, and mostly like I should’ve just rewatched the original.
