The opening seems really lighthearted, and it's with who I'm Assuming is our lead character by the poster of the film, and we've what appears to be a Voyeur already. Wowzers, we have Nightmares right out the door, and I'll be, she happens to be a blogger. It's getting interesting as we find out our girl is now heading back to the Mohawk Resevevation she once called home, and she is bringing so much more to the table now for me with any and all Native Tales and Folk Lore. We've a crazy chill character in the picture now, and not only did I see a Grinder on his lap, but he's sharing things that could possibly influence things to come in the films story. We appear to have our Voyeur back even easy out on the home front, and it now seems the nightmare is more of a tap into future memories or visions. Shenanigans are beginning in earnest, and something horrible has happened, and it doesn't look good for our girl. Our story really picks up the pace now, and things have gotten serious. If you've stayed this long in my review, you definitely won't be disappointed in where the story has taken us. The journey of our main character is finally coming to a head, and our story feels more complete. I've a New Favorite Ending to a Film...

A fun and socially conscious comedy-thriller that sees writer-director-actor Kaniehtiio Horn star as Ziggy, a Mohawk woman / social media influencer that has just landed her first big sponsorship. The problem lies in the fact that her sponsorship is from a seed manufacturer who’s business model and genetically modified seeding practices operate in exact opposition to the inherited sustainable farming traditions of Ziggy’s ancestors. There’s a lot to like here. Loved the indigenous peoples representation and it felt very similar in style and tone to an episode of Reservation Dogs. The films takes a large logical leap in it’s reveal of who the main antagonist is and what his motivations are. Although there are some hints as to who this person might be, the film completely forgoes connecting the logical dots and skips right to an exposition dump of what this character is truly after and why. Thankfully, Ziggy’s revenge tour mostly makes up for the minor gripe. It’s a fun final act that highlights well the true beating heart of the film. It’s a really fun festival watch as plenty of patrons were cheering Ziggy along. Worth checking out.
