At the time, audiences and critics treated it like a failed melodrama. But this came from the man who gave us RoboCop and Total Recall, and eventually Starship Troopers! If you missed the satire here, you just weren't looking. The industry owes Elizabeth Berkley a massive apology for not appreciating her feral, 100% committed performance. From the squeaking leather to the chaotic pool scene, it is an unhinged, brilliant masterpiece that completely eviscerates the American Dream!
Also, and I cannot stress this enough... Boobs!
50/50, Very good movie, but, NC-17 isn't good idea for this movie and other movies using rated NC-17.
Nobody is watching this shit for great writing or acting.
