When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.

I may be dating myself here, but does anyone remember that strange case of a woman who would have epileptic seizures anytime she heard Mary Hart’s voice? Well, I think I have that except it’s for James Corden. Insanely talented voice cast otherwise in a rather bland children’s movie.
It’s an okay movie, the adult humour kind of surprised with how bold it is. Definitely not the Smurfs we grew up with but it wasn’t as bad as some people are saying in my opinion anyways

Bright, bold and full of heart, this latest venture into Smurf-mania sees the little blue crew stepping into a big new adventure, complete with colourful characters, fun music, and a sense of play that keeps you smiling. It’s a treat for fans young and old alike!
Smurfs is a Smurfing waste of time that falls just short of being a Smurf-tacular heap of Smurf due to some colorful visuals. Beyond this, nothing about this story is even remotely interesting because of how recycled it all feels. I even hesitate calling this a kid’s movie because it could possibly derail the cognitive skills they’ve been developing. The script is lazy, the performances are bland, and the songs are so ridiculously shoehorned... Think Emoji Movie mixed with Trolls. I think it’s time to move on from trying to make this work.
Just a terrible movie! Casting was awful, story was garbage and wish I got my money back even though I watched it for free. Don’t waste your time or brain cells on this atrocious “movie”

Old smurfs was better. Animation is good. Not very funny. The story is weird and confusing.
Could have been much better. I'm sure Rihanna is a big fan but she is not my childhood memory and I grew up with the Smurfs. The overall movie was at least entertaining, but there were a few things in there that they definitely could have done a lot better on.
I was hoping for a fun movie based on a franchise from my childhood, like the trolls movie or the Mario movie. This just turned out to be boring. I struggled to stay awake
Paramount does pretty bad marketing on their kids films like they did to transformers one but the smurfs relates to its marketing
