Where to Watch Soulm8te
- igmacp2d agoThroughly enjoyable SciFi movie with a down to earth emotional edge to it. Obviously it's another "Hot" android/robot girl goes rogue with enough uniqueness and paces to keep you in the moment. Can get pretty grisly in certain scenes, but not over the top. Being a male of the species, one scene in particular leaves a gripping impression. Recommended watch.
- shadow2442August 1, 2026actually was a great movie. good actors, very well played. we all know the story, but blumhouse put their own spin on it and make it a little more graphic. actually enjoyed it. could have been 4 stars or even more if they would have invested a little more time and brain into the ending. why too abruptly and to be honest boring ending. i could have imagined about 12 ways to make the ending much more exiting. but it is still a good movie.
- Garrett WilkinsAugust 1, 2026The smartest thing Soulm8te does is stop pretending it has to be another M3GAN movie. With M3GAN herself absent, the film gets to stand on its own feet instead of chasing the same mix of camp, one-liners, and viral moments that made the original such a phenomenon. That immediately makes it easier to take seriously. Kate Dolan leans into a more restrained psychological thriller, and while the central idea isn't exactly fresh, the film benefits from treating it with a relatively straight face. I found myself more interested than I expected to be, even if I was never convinced I was watching the next overlooked horror gem. At the same time, it's also easy to understand why Universal ultimately abandoned a theatrical release after pulling it from the calendar. Nothing about Soulm8te feels unfinished, but very little about it feels essential either. It moves along well enough, delivers a few effective moments of tension, and never becomes the train wreck some people feared after its release strategy changed, yet it also struggles to leave much of an impression once it's over. In a year already crowded with stronger horror films, this one feels destined to disappear into the shuffle. It's perfectly watchable for an evening at home, but I don't think anyone will look back on it as one of the year's defining entries in the genre.
- ricomckee4d agoSo killer AI sex robot movies are apparently the new big thing. Ifthey could make a good one...maybe we would understand why...However, this is not it. This movie had good acting , characters and potential. Alas, it was all wasted with the story falling apart and the third act seeming like someone else wrote and directed this. There is a reason this film really didnt make it to the theaters.
- BajungaDustin6d agoPretty solid honestly. I was expecting under budget B rate but this was surprisingly polished. It's not revolutionizing the killer robotic girlfriend genre by any means but the subtle nods to the current AI issues facing society felt topical and put this in the more realistic category for how I could see this type of situation getting out of hand. Enjoyable the whole way through. No notes.
- Paul5d agoI found this movie to be highly entertaining. The setup is genuinely intriguing, and especially with where technology is today, I can easily imagine the beginning of this film becoming a reality in just a few years. Lily Sullivan's performance is incredibly strong and unsettling, perfectly carrying that creepy sci-fi vibe. However, right around the halfway mark, the story takes a turn—it gets pretty unrealistic and heavily over-the-top, leaning fully into its bloody B-movie thriller side rather than staying grounded. But honestly, if you can just suspend your disbelief and ignore the lack of realism in the second half, it remains a really fun and engaging watch!
