Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker, with the help of his mentor Tony Stark, tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City, with fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man as a new threat, the Vulture, emerges.
It’s the best Spider-Man movie ever because of its John Hughes feel-appeal to it.
I still really like Tom Holland as Spider-Man even more now that I've seen BND so it's fun going back to see the beginning

I seriously don’t understand the Homecoming slander. After rewatch, I was still super impressed with this movie and I loved it. The action was great for me and Vulture was a really good villain in my opinion. People who say Spider-Man was Iron Boy Jr. in this film are wrong in my opinion. Yeah, Iron man did help at the beginning, but Peter beat Vulture with no suit and he proved himself at the end of the movie, all while being a 15 year old in high school. On rewatch, though, I honestly didn’t really like Liz that much. Not just as a love interest, but as a character in general. The plot twist where Vulture was her dad is still great to this day. Overall excellent MCU entry and film.

A really solid movie of Spider-Man. Action, some comedy and not a rehash of the beginnings of Spider-Man that we usually see.
Pretty great movie. It's too bad you can't watch the second one with Tom Holland without watching the rest of the Marvel junk. So I guess this is the end of the line for Tom Holland Spiderman movies for me.
I missed the old spiderman 1, 2, and 3 movies :(!
This is probably the most fun Spider-Man has felt in a while. Tom Holland was a perfect choice for the role, bringing a lot of energy, humor, and that awkward teenage charm that makes the character so easy to root for. The high school setting is a great change of pace, the supporting cast is strong, and the movie does a great job balancing the smaller personal moments with the superhero stuff.
I also really like how much personality it has. It doesn't feel like it's just trying to copy what came before, and the lighter tone actually fits this version of the character really well. The villain is surprisingly good, the action is entertaining, and the whole thing has a fun, youthful vibe. Some parts are a little predictable, but the charm and great performances make up for it. One of the more rewatchable MCU movies for sure.
Watching this after the rest of the MCU made SUCH a difference.

Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker! He makes Spider-Man so much fun!
One of the weaker Spider-Man live action movies that has been released. While Tom Holland's representation of Spider-Man is decent — the movie itself, its story, side characters, etc. are significantly weaker when compared to other Spider-Man movies in the past.
There are a few good moments in here: Peter and Aunt May's relationship, the dynamic between Vulture and Peter, between Peter and Tony Stark, but everything else is quite weak and stale, and movies like Into the Spiderverse have shown that a coming-of-age story doesn't always need to be corny or kiddish, but Homecoming is about as much of a generic coming-of-age movie as it gets unfortunately.
Aside from that, the movie undermines its own character arc for Peter as he, in the third act of this movie, contradicts the lessons and consequences he should have learned from in the second act of the movie by repeating those same mistakes. This makes Peter's entire character arc in this movie confused and nonsensical.
On another rewatch, Spider-Man: Homecoming is a flawed but enjoyable film.
Positives:
- The movie is well made, well directed, well shot, well edited, and well paced
- The score is great
- The character Ark of Spider-Man is honestly kind of unseen by a lot of people
- The performances are great
- Most of our new Spider-Man characters are handled well
- The action sequences are all really enjoyable
- I love how the film is very grounded
- I love all of the High School scenes
- The comedy is also hilarious and makes for one of the funniest Spider-Man movies
Negatives:
- Spider-Man screws up a lot and doesn’t do much for the entirety of the runtime
- The film is also find to just be forgettable
Overall Spider-Man: Homecoming is still a fun enough film that I do enjoy.
