Where to Watch Storm Rider: Legend of Hammerhead
- Juno333August 3, 2026A surprisingly not terrible premise or movie. A bit slow at times but the director creates an interesting world on what I'm guessing was not a big budget. Some decent senior performances. Cheesy yes, but if you like water based sci-fi hokum and have a couple of hours spare it's not a bad choice and is well put together in many ways.

If you're criteria for a good movie is lots of things moving about on that bright rectangle that all your furniture is pointing at, then this is for you. For anybody more discerning, turn away. It's rubbish and I genuinely wish there's some sort of compensation scheme for lost time. I think it's probably aimed at older teens and at each stage of the production somebody went "that'll do". Only it didn't do.
- Justin PopeMay 31, 2026Surprinsigly good. The script / story is what saves it. In short is a kind of hunger-games / sylo post-apoc / waterworld / medieval-steam / sf but with a serious undertone.. Boat action scenes we done very clean, lots of close-ups and reused shots, but alas no glaring cheap vfx. Character dev was ok (not great) but enough for me to care about the protagonist and understant the "meta". Seems to be a compressed ver. of a longer trilogy. At times I felt they talked about scenes that should have been filmed, rather than spoken. Cynematography is great. Lots of natural ligh. I loved the genuine locations - much better shooting all in front of a green-screen.
