Where to Watch Strange Invaders
- GreggSrMay 25, 2026Strange Invaders (1983) is a forgotten little sci-fi gem that perfectly captures the originality and charm of 1980s filmmaking. With a strong cast, solid performances, and an intriguing story that blends mystery with classic alien invasion fun, it delivers that unmistakable ‘80s vibe that so many modern films seem to lack. What really stands out is how well it still holds up today. The practical effects, quirky atmosphere, and creative storytelling give it a timeless charm rather than making it feel dated. If you enjoy uncovering overlooked genre films, this one is absolutely worth a watch. 3½ out of 5 stars — a hidden ‘80s classic that’s aged like fine wine.
- jackmeatMay 14, 2025My quick rating - 5.7/10. Still quite a fun movie. Even over time, the effects look pretty good. Remember practical effects, before CGI? Seems like when the Cold War was somewhat fading away was the time movies such as this, the "living amongst us" flix, became pretty popular. Using the Midwest for a setting is quite perfect as well. And though I wasn't quite as captivated by this as I was back then by the V miniseries, I still had a good time with it. If you haven't checked this one out before, it has all you would like from it, including the quirky characters and ambitious shock hits. Though now these little tricks aren't going to surprise you as much as they did then, at least they still entertain.
