Could have been two movies which made this feel rushed, other than that it's a great movie.

I just watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. I know this one gets mixed reviews, but for me, this movie is everything I love about Spider-Man. It is emotional, bold, visually stunning, and full of heart. It takes some big swings, and I respect the way it leans all the way into its story. This is not just a superhero movie. It is a story about love, loss, responsibility, and what it means to keep going when everything feels like it is falling apart. Andrew Garfield once again delivers an incredible performance as Peter Parker. He plays Peter with so much heart and emotion. He is still trying to figure it all out. He is still dealing with the promise he made to Gwen’s father. He is carrying guilt, holding onto love, and trying to be the hero New York needs without losing the people he cares about. You can feel the weight on his shoulders, and Garfield makes it all feel real. His version of Spider-Man is funny, fast, and full of life, but when he is Peter, there is a vulnerability that hits hard. Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy is just as strong. The chemistry between her and Garfield is electric. Every scene they share feels natural and heartfelt. You believe in their connection completely. Gwen is smart, brave, and determined. She is not a side character. She is a huge part of this movie’s emotional core. The story takes their relationship seriously, and it is handled with care and purpose. Visually, this movie is stunning. The way Spider-Man moves, the way the camera follows him as he swings through the city — it is beautiful. The action scenes are big and exciting, but they still have weight. The Times Square scene is one of the best action sequences in any Spider-Man movie. The use of slow motion, the music, the danger — it is intense and unforgettable. The way the colors pop and the city lights up around him adds a whole other layer of energy to everything. The villains in this one are more complex than they get credit for. Jamie Foxx as Electro is tragic and intense. You feel bad for Max Dillon before he becomes Electro. He just wants to be seen, and when he finally gets power, it twists him. His design, the way the electricity moves around him, the way he talks through the speakers — it is all visually awesome. Harry Osborn’s arc is rushed, but Dane DeHaan brings a dark edge that works with the tone of the story. His scenes with Peter are complicated, and the tension feels earned. The music is also a standout. Hans Zimmer’s score is big, emotional, and fits the tone perfectly. The themes stick with you, and when the emotional moments come, the music lifts them to another level. The soundtrack becomes part of the storytelling in a way that makes this movie feel larger than life. I give The Amazing Spider-Man 2 5 out of 5 stars because it made me feel everything. It is exciting, heartbreaking, and full of passion. It is not afraid to take risks, and that is what makes it special. Overall The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a bold and emotional ride that digs deep into what it means to be a hero. It is beautiful, intense, and unforgettable. I loved every second of it.

    Best Spiderman movie ever made

This is tied with Spider-Man 3 as the worst Spider-Man movie. It just so freaking corny. Other than the Gwen and Peter story and Elektro visuals this movie is just not good at all. Harry and the Rhino are the dumbest looking villains in all of the Spider-Man movies.

On another rewatch, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 still holds up as an amazing Spider-Man film. Positives: - The movie is well made, well directed, well shot, well edited, and well paced - The score is amazing just like the film - This film contains one of if not the best Spider-Man suit ever put to a silver screen - New York visually looks great with all of the colours popping out - The performances are all amazing - Most of the characters are handled perfectly - The action sequences are awesome - This is one of the most emotional Spider-Man films that really pulls on the heart strings by the end - The film contains one of the greatest romances ever put to a screen Negatives: - The movie try’s to merge to many things into one movie and that does affect the characters, the story, and a couples plot lines Overall I love The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Messy but beautiful. Stunning visuals, great chemistry, and standout moments — the heart is stronger than the script.

Hadn't watched this since release, and I honestly forgot how much fun parts of it are. Andrew Garfield is still great as Spider-Man, and his chemistry with Emma Stone is easily the best thing in the entire movie. The web-swinging still looks fantastic, the CGI has held up surprisingly well, and the final act still hits emotionally. But this movie is also a complete mess. There are way too many plotlines, too much sequel setup, and the villains really drag it down. I had almost forgotten how awful the designs for Electro, Green Goblin and Rhino are. They're obviously inspired by the Ultimate Universe versions, but with some bizarre changes that somehow made them even worse. This really feels like one of the biggest missed opportunities in superhero movies. There is a genuinely great Spider-Man film hidden in here somewhere, but it's buried under way too much stuff.

Clearly designed to be the middle of a trilogy, rewatching the pair of them now only makes the missing piece even more of a tragedy. its got a lot going for it; the SFX are particularly good. A strong 7/10

Honestly a very good Spider-Man film that has great villains and great stories. The deleted scenes are also interesting I guess.
