- Kevin WardMay 31, 2026Ian McKellen is just an absolute master of his craft. Absolutely wonderful performance. It was really great to see him step away from genre fare and tackle a dialogue driven drama where he can really flex that muscle again. And not to take away from Michaela Coel, who more than holds her own. This is a true two-hander and she really does balance out the film. I’m very much in the bag for all things Steven Soderbergh. I’m really hoping that AI John Lennon thing is just a one off. I hated James Corden’s character, which I know is the point, but it still felt a little on the nose. Very cool premise though with a satisfying arc.

The “caper / twist” Soderberghism at the end I could have done without My mom cried during the last scenes.
