Ian McKellen is just an absolute master of his craft. Absolutely wonderful performance. It was really great to see him step away from genre fare and tackle a dialogue driven drama where he can really flex that muscle again. And not to take away from Michaela Coel, who more than holds her own. This is a true two-hander and she really does balance out the film. I’m very much in the bag for all things Steven Soderbergh. I’m really hoping that AI John Lennon thing is just a one off. I hated James Corden’s character, which I know is the point, but it still felt a little on the nose. Very cool premise though with a satisfying arc.

Excellent, just like watching a stage play on screen. Superb script, impeccable actors and wonderful locations. The detail in the layout and decoration of Julian’s flat was a joy to look at. I will probably watch it again next week.

Good last film of Steven’s for me to watch (will be boycotting until he gives up his AI conquest) Very, very good dialogue throughout. Very, very funny! The “caper / twist” Soderberghism at the end I could have done without My mom cried during the last scenes. They were good Watched at Warren Regal 21 with my mommy Currently Ranked #18/55 in 2026 Ranked

Tender, artistic view of an artist in late life, a life he has given up on, family that would rather him dead for their own benefit and an assistant finding her pure heart
